St. John’s Reformed Church believes and acknowledges the following based on Biblical teachings:
The Sovereignty of God
We believe that all things are under God’s rule and control and that nothing happens without His direction or permission. He is never frustrated by circumstances. God is Supreme, He is the Almighty, He cannot be defeated.
The Trinity
We believe in one God that exists in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Authority of Scriptures (The Bible)
We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God and it is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
Salvation by Grace
The gift of God’s grace is freely given to all who are willing to accept it. It cannot be earned through works or good deeds. The only way to salvation is through accepting Jesus Christ, by faith, as Lord and Savior.
Evangelism
We believe that as Christians we must proclaim and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Knowing and understanding what Jesus did for us, we have an obligation to teach others, so they, too, can come to know Him and be saved. The “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:19-20), clearly teaches that we are to “go and make disciples,” locally and in “all nations.”
